Information for USG Institutional Coordinators
USG Course Criteria
- Does the course meet the Principles of Good Practice?
- Is the course accessible to prospective students throughout the 16 state SREB region, through Web-based, satellite, videotape or CD-ROM instruction?
- Can your institution provide appropriate support to students in any of the 16 SREB regional states?
- Are there adequate seats to accommodate additional enrollments?
- Has the course been taught for one or more terms?
- Does the course address regional education or economic development needs, such as Business, Information Technology, Education or Healthcare?
- Does the course use some form of technology at least 51% of the time.
USG Program Criteria
- Does the program meet the Principles of Good Practice?
- Has the program been approved by the Board of Regents for distance education delivery?
- Will the program be accessible throughout the 16 state SREB region?
- Can your institution provide appropriate support to students in any of the 16 SREB regional states?
- Are there adequate seats to accommodate additional enrollments?
- Has the program been taught for one or more terms?
- Does the program address regional education or economic development needs, such as Business, Information Technology, Education or Healthcare?
- (SREB)-at least 90 percent of all didactic course work required to complete the proposed degree program is made available to prospective students in an electronic format.
Instructions
- Certify the course/program meets the Principles of Good Practice.
- List ONLY new courses on the Course Submission form when filing for System approval.
- Specify delivery method (Web, video tape, etc.).
- List credit hours.
- No remedial courses or programs should be recommended unless they are for credit.
- Keep the Electronic Campus list for your institution current and up-to-date; i.e., delete courses or programs no longer offered.
- Course or Program Submission Forms can be sent to the System Office at any time; if the course is needed for a specific semester, please check on SREB's Electronic Campus for submission deadlines
