How does it work?

Who teaches?

Highly qualified faculty members from universities and colleges throughout the University System of Georgia are recruited to teach eCore classes. Current eCore faculty members include leaders in innovative teaching practices and published researchers as in face to face classrooms. These faculty members are experienced online instructors and have had additional training in online teaching.

Do classes transfer?

Credits earned in eCore courses will transfer to institutions within the University System of Georgia and to most other colleges and universities.  However, before registering for an eCore course, consult your campus ombudsperson to determine if courses fit your chosen major’s program of study.

What are classes like?

Unlike some online courses which simply migrate traditional lecture material into an electronic format, eCore courses have been designed from the ground up to maximize the advantages, and minimize the limitations, of electronic course delivery. All courses have been designed with navigation and logistical features to ensure the ability to move easily and consistently from course to course.

Courses are taught fully online as students are enrolled in a 16-week semester course with other students.  Students are expected to read textbook assignments, participate in online discussions, complete faculty assigned projects online, participate in lab experiments, and complete exams. Each course has a minimum of one mandatory proctored experience.
