About Advanced Learning Technologies
Advanced Learning Technologies (ALT) is a unit within the University System of Georgia’s Office of Information and Instructional Technology. ALT leads the University System and its institutions in the strategic uses of technology as an integral part of the academic enterprise to expand access, enhance learning, enrich opportunities, and establish innovative finance and governance models. It serves the institutions within the University System by:
- Providing academic enterprise systems and services as part of the USG Integrated Learning Environment.
- Fostering the development and implementation of quality e-learning using collaborative approaches.
- Conducting research and evaluations to influence policy making, instructional practice and technology development.
- Evaluating and developing tools and models which support the strategic use of technology for instruction.
- Participating in System-level policy development affecting technology and its use in instruction.
- Contributing to appropriate state and national activities that focus upon the changing role of technology in higher education.
